After a seemingly long wait that followed its releases on the Xbox One and Play Station 4, Grand Theft Auto 5 finally made its way to the PC. One would think that, after already being out on two generations of consoles, people would’ve had their fill, but no, the game quickly became the most concurrently-played game on Steam. PC players were excited for the new release, and they definitely showed it. Of course, with the PC being the best place to fool around with mods, and Grand Theft Auto 5 being a wildly popular game, it was only a matter of time before people started creating mods for it. And they did. Things like teleportation, snow, and ragdolling features were implemented, and many good times were had. Well, save for those that took mods into GTA Online and were subsequently banned. They probably had their days ruined. Besides, it’s not like the PC version of the game ever officially supported mods anyway. Which brings us to the recently released 350.1 patch for Grand Theft Auto 5 PC and its sudden relation to mod support. In most cases, patches are meant to improve the game and player’s experiences with it, but today’s patch, while fulfilling the aforementioned role, came with an unexpected, yet kinda ironic, side-effect: breaking certain mods. As reported by the Grand Theft Auto 5 modding community, GTA5- Mods.com, the new patch has affected the mod Script Hook V, making it unusable. Players those that want to use it are now in a rather unpleasant situation. Do they install the patch and wait for an updated version of the mod, or forgo the update and keep playing an outdated version of the game? With the release of Grand Theft Auto V update 1.33 on Play Station 4, Xbox One, and PC today, Rockstar Games has brought new content to Benny’s Original Motor Works, the new Sumo adversary mode, new weapons, improved GTA Online loading times, numerous bug fixes, and more.
