I ran out of space on the internal HD (upgraded to 2 TB) - so I connected up a 3 TB external USB drive. For some reason, however, it won't play the ripped movies from there. It shows them in the library, fine, but when I click play it just sits at a black screen. I can play the videos in other ways (including just double clicking on them in Explorer (outside of Media Center). Any idea why these aren't working the way the internal movies are? But my research says to try making a Fat32 partition on that USB drive. Stick a video on that and see if will then play.
