I have the same system as you ( DV9930us) and did a clean W7 installation ( Wipe vista x64 partition and format it again). After the installation there are some minor issues that are easily solved.1) Display adapter. W7 installed a Standart VGA Driver. Solved installing latest Forceware driver pack for 8600 M GS from Nvidia site.2) Ricoh 5-in-1 Flash Media Card Reader Writer. W7 didn't know what it was ( Base system Device). Solved installing latest Vista x64 driver from HP site.3) Most of other devices ( IR Remote ( HP Audio ( Realtek Network Wired ( Realtek Soft modem ( Motorola Touchpad (synaptics Webcam ( HP). Windows Update did a good job installing the correct drivers for me.4) Intel Chipset, SATA AHCI (storage manager) and Wireless Drivers. I used those from Intel site. Installed the Intel Chipset driver first and use the -overall command line argument. Them I installed the SATA AHCI (overwrite the intel chipset driver old one therefore the install order is a important thing here )5) My personal hardware stuff. PSC 1315 AIO printer ( HP Wireless keyboard and mouse ( Microsoft) and external Monitor ( Samsung). Again Windows Update did a good job installing the drivers for me. All device are working as expected6) HP Quickplay and Quick launch buttons. I installed from HP vista x64 driver page but i choose to uninstall those because the background programs that these products introduces on my system (services and other nasty program tha might slow down the system). I can live without them very well. Some statistics Startup Time: 42 s Shutdown Time: 14 s Windows Experience Index : 4.6 Battery autonomy: aprox. 30 minuter longer that was in Vista x64 ( I guess because that are less process running at background) Security Suite.
