Article ID: Last Reviewed: 23- Feb-2016 The AA (altered assembly) number is a nine-digit, alphanumeric code used to identify a desktop board and its revision history. A small barcode label, like the image shown here, is found on the Intel® Desktop Board. The numbers following the letters AA can help identify the model and version of your Intel Desktop Board. This image shows an example of the label placement on a board. Press Control F and enter the first six characters only of the AA number (example: G28808). Do not include the last three characters of the AA number (-xxx) in the search. When you find your AA number, click on the board link to go to the support site. If you search, and do not get any results, try the following: Look at the barcode label again. The label is small, and some numbers can look like letters (for example: 2 and Z, 5 and S, 8 and B). Make sure you are only entering the first six characters of the AA number. Make sure you are looking at the AA barcode label. There are other codes printed directly on Intel Desktop Boards, but these codes aren't indicative of the board model. If you do not find your AA number in these tables, then you likely have a board from an OEM (original equipment manufacturer).
