Hi ajeff, your right the option should be there but it isn't. According to the user manual and the screenshots I have seen online it should be located under Management in the left hand UI menu. All the same I have clicked through every option available in the UI menu but its not there. As I mentioned in my first post there are other options that are missing also. Under Management I should have the following options: Settings, System Log, Security Log, TR-069 Client, Internet Time, Access Control, Update Software, and Reboot. The only option I have under Management is Reboot, the rest are all missing. To change my password I should be able to navigate: Management/ Access Control/ Passwords but those options just are not there. The only possibilities that I can think of that would cause these options to be missing would be either the username and password that Fair Point provided only gives limited access control or the modem had got a bad firmware flash. The last possibility would be that Fair Point deliberately took away the options. I am not sure if this will help or not but this modem from my understanding is newer then some of the others out there with the same model. My entire modem is black with 2 external antennas. Older AR-5381u's are black & white with internal antennas. Concerning the default user name and password. The one you wanted me to try is the same one listed in the manual, however it does not work. Fair Point gave me username: admin / password: user12345. In the past twenty years I have never seen a modem/router lacking the ability to change the default username and password. I am at my wits end and Fair Point is blowing me off like its no big deal. Unless someone has more insight about this issue I'm afraid the only option I will have will be to buy my own ADSL2+ modem/router and that is fine however I can see situations that this issue could pose serious.
Please Note: Comtrend modems that Execulink Telecom gives out come pre-configured so that the initial set-up process is automatically initiated by your modem upon startup via TR069 firmware. If you have just received your modem from us, you don't need to follow these steps to get your connection working unless you have requested a different firmware version. PPPo E Quick Setup 1. Open a web browser (such as Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox).2. Enter   into the address bar to navigate to the modem set-up page.3. Click on Quick Setup from the menu on the left to open the set-up wizard.4. Enter your PPP username and password provided to you by Execulink.5. Enter the SSID of your choosing to name your wireless network. * Alternatively, you can choose to ‘skip’ the Quick Setup if you want to set some of the advanced features during this initial setup. PPPo E Manual Setup 1. First, you will need to add the DSL ATM interface for the Comtrend to function. Start by clicking   on “add” after skipping the “ Quick Setup”. 2. Then, enter the VPI as “0”, and the VCI as “35”. The rest of the settings should be fine as defaulted. 3. Next, click on WAN service (from the menu on the left) and select the ATM interface you just   created, and hit “ Next” to configure the WAN service for this interface. 4. Now you should be at WAN Service Configuration and you can leave these settings as is and   click Next. 5. You will then be prompted for the username and password for the PPP connection (supplied   by Execulink). Ensure “ Enable NAT” is checked and click “ Next”. 6. Simply leave the “ Default Gateway Interface” as the default and click “ Next”. 7. On the following “ DNS Server Configuration” page, the DNS can be left to the PPPo E connection, or   manually set if you choose. Click “ Next” to see the “ WAN Setup – Summary” page and then   “ Apply/ Save” to complete the.
