Disney XD will turn Big Hero 6 into a TV series, set to debut next year. Mark Mc Corkle and Bob Schooley ( The Penguins of Madagascar TV series, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Kim Possible) will executive produce the series for Disney Television Animation. TV animation veteran Nick Filippi ( Wolverine and the X- Men, American Dragon: Jake Long, The Legend of Tarzan) will be the show’s supervising director, and also shares an exec producer credit. “ Our colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios have created a brilliant new world, inspired by Marvel, with vivid, unique characters,” said Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide, in a statement. “ We are thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop these characters into a world class animated series – full of fun, action and the kind of endearing storytelling that only Mark, Bob – and Baymax — can.
