Based on several reviews the new HTC One is a good looking device, not only equipped with a powerful hardware but also wrapped with full metal body that looks solid and elegant. Additionally this phone runs the latest HTC Sense 5.0 which makes the User Interface ( UI) more beautiful compared to the previous version. Luckily the phone is designed to operate with Android OS, so that we are able to modify the UI in order to make it looks more attractive to all of us. For example, we can change the default battery icon with percentage indicator or if you are bored with the default HTC One fonts, you can replace it with other fonts. By default there’s no options to change font on Android, however with some steps we are able to put any font. Screenshot: v-b-n@xda-developers Here are simple steps that you need to do if you wish to change the default fonts on HTC One: Since we will replace fonts that are located on the system partition, then we need to achieve root access, so that we can erase and write to the system partition, the root guide can be read here. Another requirement that must be fulfilled is custom recovery, which helps us to change fonts automatically and quickly. Tested with TWRP recovery, but it might also work with CWM recovery. If each of the above requirements have been satisfied, then you can choose some flashable fonts (in.zip format) that you prefer here on xda, and then save it and move it into your smartphone. Turn off your phone, then turn it on by pressing the vol down together with the power button, and you will enter into bootloader mode, from there select RECOVERY options. After entering TWRP/ CWM, tap install zip from sdcard, point to where you save fonts file (zip). Reboot and you will notice a new fonts on HTC Sense 5.0 UI. Carry out the same steps to try other fonts or return to the stock HTC fonts ( Droid Serif/ Roboto).
HTC remains one of the very ODMs out there who deeply remain focussed on designing the smartphones with a premium look and feel. Apart from Apple and Nokia, HTC  can be proud of the design and materials on their high device and if the HTC M7 was a game changer as far as premium Android phones go, the HTC M8 is the second innings of the same revolution, just improving upon the good things that HTC did with the M7. HTC One M8 comes with Sense 6 which is the followup to Sense 5 and as a result brings a ton of new features. We will try and cover as many of them as possible for you here on Techsplurge. However, one of the features that most Samsung Galaxy devices have had but the HTC devices missed out was the ability to change the font on the device. On the outset it might look not such a big deal, but the fact is, a right font selection can dramatically change the look of your device if you have an eye for details in UI. You can can pick between the default font, LCD or Helvetica on the M8. Not just this, you can also download any Flip Fonts from the Google Play Store to use with the device giving it a unique appearance. You can also switch the size of the font on the device based on your preference. To change the font on the all new HTC One ( M8) follow the steps below: Step 1 Open Settings app on your device by going inside the app drawer. Step 2 In settings, look for the Phone Option and under that select Display and Gestures. Step 3 In Display and Gestures, you will need to click on Font Style and select the font of your choice. We have selected Helvetica for now. Similarly you can select Font Size which is the next option in the list to pick the font size of your choice. Step 4 If you do not like the fonts that are available on the device by default, you can click on ‘ Get Fonts Online’ and the phone will automatically take you to the Google Play Store from where you.
The Android platform has lots of ways to make the user experience unique and one of those ways is being able to completely change the default font. Occasionally, Google will refresh the font used throughout the Android system, but now it has become even easier to change the font from the user level without special permissions or root access. The HTC One M8 comes with three fonts right out of the box: LCD, Helvetica, and Default font ( Robot). Besides selecting one of those three fonts HTC users can tap an option titled, “ Get Fonts Online” which will direct them to the Play store where they can find a bunch of font applications hosting 4 or 5 different fonts from the same family. I want to say this new feature to change fonts was available with the HTC One M7 and if I remember correctly the option to get more online was introduced with HTC Sense 6 so anything with that version of Sense or higher should have what is being described in this article. To change the font on your device go to the System Settings and tap Display and gestures. From this window you can change some font related items like the Font Style and Font Size. For the purpose of this article tap Font style then Get Fonts Online for those custom fonts. After a font app has been installed come back to the Font style in the System Settings to see a refreshed list of available fonts. While changing from font to font you may notice that Sense has to refresh itself as well and will take a few seconds before it is ready to display the new font. Be patient and realize the change has to trickle throughout the Android system. Be careful with all the font apps you install, because some of these types of apps may pop up from time to time with ads or some obnoxious deal of the day also keep an eye on the app permissions. Also in one of the screen shots you can see that the new font messed up my clock and couldn’t.
